I am very grateful to be called to serve as the pastor of Piney Grove Methodist Church!

I am a native of Sweden but have lived in several different countries such as Nepal and Norway, including 10 years in the US during the late 90’s, early 2000’s. I am a graduate of Wesley Biblical Seminary, MS where I earned a Master of Divinity in 2007. I met my wife Laurie at Asbury College in Wilmore, KY and we were married in 1997. I am a former full-time firefighter who has served in fire departments in Sweden, Indiana, Kentucky and Norway. However, the Lord called me to serve him in the ministry back in 2001 and I has served as a pastor ever since my graduation in 2007, coming up on 19 years of service. Previous to coming to Piney Grove Methodist Church I served 5 different Methodist churches in Sweden and Norway. Having lived in Indiana, Kentucky and Mississippi, and now North Carolina, I am fluent in English and actually prefer it to my native tongue.

I am excited about the Global Methodist church and how God is moving once again amongst the people called “Methodists”. I love theology, especially everything concerning Holiness, and bringing the deep and meaningful truths of God’s word up to the surface so people can understand and apply these truths to their daily lives. Our God is a God who has revealed Himself in many different ways…why don’t we try and learn and get to know as much of Him as possible?

In my spare time I enjoy reading, hiking, boating and spending time with friends and family. I have two sons, Samuel (21) and David (17).
