Andreas Kjernald is a native of Gothenburg, Sweden. He is a graduate of Wesley Biblical Seminary, MS where he earned his Master of Divinity in 2007. He met his wife Laurie at Asbury College in Wilmore, KY and they married in 1997. He is a former full-time firefighter who has served in fire departments in Sweden, Indiana, Kentucky and Norway. However, the Lord called him to serve him in the ministry back in 2001 and he has served as a pastor ever since his graduation in 2007, coming up on 18 years of service. Previous to coming to Piney Grove Methodist Church he served 5 different Methodist churches in Sweden and Norway. Having lived in Indiana, Kentucky and Mississippi, and now North Carolina, he is fluent in English but also in Swedish and Norwegian.

He is very excited about the Global Methodist church and how God is moving once again amongst the people called “Methodists”. His loves theology, especially everything concerning Holiness, and bringing the deep and meaningful truths of God’s word up to the surface of our lives.

In his spare time he enjoys reading, hiking, boating and spending time with friends and family. He has two sons, Samuel (20) and David (17).
